Keith Yandle Retires As NHL's All-Time Leader In Consecutive Games

Veteran defenseman Keith Yandle said Tuesday he is retiring after 16 seasons in the NHL.

Yandle became the NHL's all-time Iron Man last season, extending his consecutive-games streak to 989 before the Philadelphia Flyers scratched him late in the year.

The 36-year-old blue liner also played for Arizona Coyotes, New York Rangers and Florida Panthers.

Zdeno Chara, the hulking defenseman who captained the Boston Bruins to their sixth Stanley Cup, announced Tuesday he is retiring from the NHL.

The 45-year-old finishes his career with 209 goals and 680 points in 1,680 games over 24 seasons with the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Bruins and Washington Capitals before returning to the Isles for the 2021-22 season. Chara scored twice and had 14 points while averaging nearly 19 minutes of ice time over 44 games in what ultimately became his final NHL campaign.

P.K. Subban Retires After 13 NHL Seasons

P.K. Subban announced on Tuesday his retirement from the NHL following 13 seasons played among the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils.

The defenseman suited up in 834 career games, with 115 goals and 467 points. He revealed "the end of this chapter" to his career in an Instagram post.

Nick Suzuki was named the 31st captain of the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.

The 23-year-old center is the youngest captain in Canadiens history; Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Sylvio Mantha was named captain at age 24 to begin the 1926-27 season. He is the second full-time captain of Asian heritage in NHL history. Hall of Fame forward Paul Kariya held the position for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from 1996 to 2003. Richard Park was one of five rotating captains (Jim Dowd, Andrew Brunette, Brad Brown, Brad Bombardir) for the Minnesota Wild in 2003-04.

Mathieu Perreault Retires After 13 NHL Seasons

Mathieu Perreault has retired from the NHL after 13 seasons.

The 34-year-old forward had nine points (four goals, five assists) and was limited to 25 games for the Montreal Canadiens last season because of injury.

Perreault will be contributing to TVA Sports as a broadcaster this season.

Selected by the Washington Capitals in the sixth round (No. 177) of the 2006 NHL Draft, Perreault had 352 points (143 goals, 209 assists) in 708 regular-season games for the Capitals, Anaheim Ducks, Winnipeg Jets and Canadiens, and 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 51 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Ryan Miller Among Five Elected To U.S. Hockey HOF Class

Ryan Miller, who has won more games than any United States-born goalie in NHL history, is among five people elected to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2022, USA Hockey announced Thursday.

Miller went 391-289-87 with one tie, a 2.64 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and 44 shutouts in 796 games (772 starts) in 18 NHL seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks. He was 28-27 with a 2.52 GAA, .913 save percentage and three shutouts in 57 Stanley Cup Playoff games (55 starts).
